The founder and managing director of Africhance Tutors, Ms Jackie Rudman, completed her BA degree in Language and Culture in 2007 and passed her Honors Degree in Afrikaans and Dutch with distinction in 2008, both at the University of Stellenbosch. She is currently completing her Masters Degree in which she investigates the impact of an alternative approach to Afrikaans language support at Stellenbosch University.

While completing her studies and lecturing at the Stellenbosch University's Language Centre, she noticed an increasing need for language support in Afrikaans which neither universities nor other tutoring companies were able to satisfy. In an attempt to bring together those wanting Afrikaans language support and those who are able to provide it she founded Africhance Tutors - a unique company that aims to make a noticeable difference in the lives of its clients and tutors. Consequently the Afrikaans language is developing and expanding and new job opportunities are being created.
